Short Description

From the beginning of the photographic project initiated by the Swiss Society for Folklore Studies in 2014 until the present, 120,000 photographs from 16 collections have been processed. Under the direction of Prof. Walter Leimgruber and in close collaboration with the Digital Humanities Lab of the University of Basel and the restoration studio Anklin & Assen, these objects have been conserved, restored, digitized and documented in a database, and made digitally accessible through a user-friendly website. Following Memoriav and the Florence Declaration, we preserve and make both digital and analog formats accessible to the wider public. The photo archive contains 120,000 of about 500,000 photographic objects spanning 150 years of photographic history.

We are working on making the data available on our user friendly DSP-APP. Thank you for your patience.
