We provide the following consulting services:

  • We can provide consulting regarding data management for qualitative data and digital objects including digitization, formats, data handling and workflows. 

  • We can advise you closely on data modeling or creating a project-specific data model for your research project, and employing best practices concerning interoperability, standards and longevity.

  • We can develop project-specific scripts to clean your data and import it into DSP.

 

After the first eight hours of work, these consulting services for research groups or individual scholars will be charged at the standard rates, which can be found here.

Consulting

Our Services - Training and Consulting

We offer consulting and training to researchers themselves as well as to research IT staff at Swiss higher education institutions.

Training/Workshops

We make special offers available in particular to young researchers (PhD level) within the framework of their doctoral training. If you would like a member of DaSCH to give a workshop about a certain topic at your institution, or you would like to participate in a doctoral training course, please send us an email. We can tailor the workshop to your needs, with examples including:

  • Hands-on training in the use of the DaSCH infrastructure.

  • Workshop thematizing frequently asked questions by researchers when writing a data management plan. 

  • Workshop about best practices in the management and (re-)use of qualitative data in humanities research.

 

All workshops are free of charge.

Pricing

The DaSCH repository service is free of charge for national research projects or those with Swiss participation. For data volumes exceeding 500 GB, annual cost sharing by the project or its hosting institution may be required (no fees apply for project data stored in the DaSCH Service Platform before the beginning of 2025).

Archiving

Workshops are free of charge. Consulting services are free of charge for members of research IT groups and other research infrastructures.

The first eight hours of work for research groups or individual scholars are free. Additional consulting services will be charged as follows. 

Standard rates
Services

CHF 640/day for PI at the University of Basel

CHF 640/day + 8.1% VAT for other Higher Education Institutions

CHF 1,280/day + 8.1% VAT for all other external institutions
